From Needs to Solutions: Our Design Process
Challenge Identification
We start by listening to "Need Knowers" — individuals who experience the challenge first-hand, ensuring that every idea responds to a real human need.
Concept Development
Our diverse teams, engineers, healthcare professionals, and community members brainstorm solutions through co-design sessions and rapid ideation.
Working Model
We build early prototypes and test them directly with users, collecting feedback to enhance usability and efficiency.
Prototype Development
Using 3D printing, CNC machining, and smart design tools, we develop refined, durable prototypes adapted to user feedback.
Final Product & Distribution
Once validated, the final assistive device is produced locally and distributed through rehabilitation centers, schools, and partner organizations while participants gain hands-on technical experience that strengthens employability.

The hands-on workshop in Ramallah was a truly meaningful experience, bringing the PIP community together for something both practical and inspiring. PIP Alumni had the chance to work closely with the Makers team, assembling assistive devices that will genuinely help people with disabilities in their everyday lives. The atmosphere was full of curiosity, teamwork, and a sense of purpose, and many shared how powerful it felt to contribute to something so real and impactful. The Makers team played a huge role in this as they were patient, welcoming, and incredibly skilled in guiding everyone through each step. Their openness and support made the experience even richer and more enjoyable. It was a reminder of how important this kind of work is – building skills, building connections, and creating solutions that make a difference

My biggest challenge was moving independently from my
chair to my bed and using the bathroom without needing
my brother’s or father’s help. When I reached out to
Makers, they redesigned my wheelchair to fit my needs
perfectly. I’m thrilled that I can now manage these two
important tasks on my own. With a simple, one-click control
using my only working hand, I can easily transfer to my bed
and use the bathroom. It’s been life-changing!”
